The Health and Arthritis Institute

Tai Chi for Arthritis groupIMG_20140808_154117The health benefits of Tai Chi have been known to the Chinese for hundreds of years.

Now Gympie residents can also practice the gentle movements of Tai Chi to help in the management of arthritis, improve movement and to have fun as well. Tai Chi increases confidence and improves balance, builds muscle strength, bone mass and joint mobility, helping to manage arthritis. It also aids relaxation, coordination and visualisation.

Tai Chi for Arthritis consists of groups that meet every week at a local hall in Gympie. Groups take place in a friendly atmosphere of support and social interaction enjoyed by all.

How does CHSN assist the community?

“Being a member of CHSN and attending the network meetings opens the door to so many opportunities. These include being informed about planned community events; connected to the broad range of local and outreach services available; empowered by collaborating together to “make a difference to our community”. Regular attendance to CHSN Network meetings is a top priority for me in my Hub role”.
