The Community Futures Project is an inclusive art group for emerging artists who share a common interest in artistic expression and who wish to develop their skills further. It caters for diversity and offers a welcoming, accessible environment for art students in the Gympie region.

The project enhances the development of local artists and benefits the local community through encouragement, realisation and exhibition of local talent. It is auspiced by Cooloola Human Services Network and entirely self funded through tuition fees and fundraising efforts. The group meets each week at the Gympie Regional Gallery. Classes are extremely popular and well attended.

Techniques include painting, craft, clay, theatre and a variety of specialist tutors attend to share their skills.

How does CHSN assist the community?

A strong network of organisations across many sectors and caring individuals within the community make up the CHSN family. CHSN provides a base for networking to support both interagency and advocacy roles. CHSN has transitioned into a physical 'hub' that is very active on the coalface of community needs. CHSN disseminates information across the Gympie region and is also responsible for facilitating training events and forums. CHSN acts in an auspicing and nurturing role for many smaller unfunded groups. The Gympie region is very well served by CHSN as a vital player in providing holistic approach to community development, across intergenerational bounds.
